This is a spec project I did for an educational toy company, ABC Toys. The project asked that I complete a targeted banner ad aimed at parents of small children, enticing them to click through to a landing page and, ideally, to increase conversion from said landing page. These toys are designed to aid with critical thinking, coordination, and artistic development. The creative brief specified that each frame of the banner ad should be 250 x 300 pixels and I decided to keep the words minimal because I thought the most effective way to engage the target audience would be through keeping the writing simple yet powerful, but mainly to show images of the children engaged in play that is both fun and educational. In doing this, I thought it would make it easier for parents to imagine and visualize their little ones enjoying ABC Toys also. Parents playing an active role in their child’s early education and development tend to see the obvious educational benefits to things like creativity and curiosity, and understand that when these things are encouraged early on in a child’s life, it leads to a greater chance of academic success that will follow them through their school years and beyond. This idea is then condensed in the last slide with “Bright futures are nurtured by hands-on play!”
